Out of the comfort zone

Another month has passed since the last post, sorry guys but in Costa Rica internet connection is not the best and no wifi at home. In a month many things have changed, to start we moved down in town, we are in a cabaña at the moment.

Sadly it didn't work out with the Italian family for many reasons that I won't explain but after a month we realised that it wasn't the experience that we want it to do. We were expecting to learn many things from them instead we've been used just for our being new here. What to say with italians it often happens when travelling around the world, but we are still trying to see the good from people..

But... Here we restart, finally from ground zero and from ourself. Uvita is a small town very relaxing and quiet, at the moment we are still on low and wet season so there are no many tourists around. It looks like a growing town, there are no big buildings, only the essential shops. Uvita, with his Parque National Marino Ballena, is one of the most visited places in Costa Rica, in between of Manuel Antonio and the famous Corcovado National Parque. We have to say we haven't visited much Costa Rica as we moved down here directly... But also we are not here to be tourists....

Living overseas presents different difficulties from being a tourist. We are moving out from the comfort zone and catching the time here, talking with locals and feeling contact with this stunning and predominant nature, giving time to time and learning the real essence of PURA VIDA. Costa Rica is the most expensive country in central America and we knew that from before this trip as we are not millionaires (and we don't want to be)... But if really that would be a possibility to move down here and open a small business, wouldn't you do it? We still don't know if it is possible but if we don't try we never know.

My poor Spanish is improving, talking in Italian dialect sometimes helps... 😂 I really like the Latin culture even if I can't catch it all.. Carlo instead looks already like a Tico, maybe it's his Mediterranean tan...

By the way, we are alright, we are not doing LA BELLA VITA, we are not spending all days at the beach or partying, but we are living in Costa Rica and that's enough.. none would have never believed it!

The temperature is perfect, hot and humid but rains almost every day; they say in a month we will miss the rain. Locals are friendly and wave on the street.

We are always more fascinated by this beautiful paradise and still looking for a little corner for ourselves....

È passato più di un mese dall'ultimo post, scusatemi ma in costa Rica la connessione non è la migliore e non abbiamo il wifi in casa. Sono cambiate diverse cose in un mese, per iniziare ci siamo spostati in paese, siamo in una cabaña.

Purtroppo a casa della famiglia italiana non ha funzionato per diversi motivi che non andrò ovviamente a elencare ma dopo un mese ci siamo resi conto che non era il tipo di esperienza che volevamo fare. Ci aspettavamo di imparare molte cose e invece siamo stati sfruttati per il nostro essere appena arrivati. Che dire tra connazionali succede spesso viaggiando per il mondo, ma ancora ci proviamo a vedere del buono dalle persone...

Ma... Da qui si riparte, finalmente dal punto zero e da noi stessi.

Uvita è un paesello molto tranquillo, al momento siamo ancora in "temporada" bassa quindi si vedono ancora pochi turisti. Sembra un paese in via di sviluppo, non ci sono palazzoni, ma solo i negozi essenziali. Uvita, con il Parque National Marino Ballena è tra le mete più visitate del Costa Rica, tra Manuel Antonio e Il famosissimo Parque National del Corcovado. Dobbiamo dire che non abbiamo visitato molto il Costa Rica visto che siamo venuti qui direttamente... ma anche che non siamo qui per fare i turisti... Vivere all'estero presenta spesso delle difficoltà diverse da quelle del turista...

Stiamo uscendo fuori dalla zona confort e prendendo i ritmi di qui, parlando con la gente che vive qui e sentendo il contatto con questa natura predominante ed incantevole e dando il giusto tempo alle cose e cercando di capire la vera essenza del PURA VIDA... Il Costa Rica è il paese più caro del centro America e lo sapevamo ancora prima di intraprendere questo viaggio visto che non siamo milionari (e non lo vogliamo essere)... ma se ci fosse veramente una possibilità di trasferirsi qui ed aprire un piccolo business voi non lo fareste?? Ancora non sappiamo se sia possibile ma se non ci provi non lo saprai mai...

Il mio scarso spagnolo va migliorando, parlare in dialetto a volte aiuta. La cultura Latina mi piace molto anche se ancora non riesco a prenderla a pieno... Carlo invece già lo scambiano per tico, sará l'abbronzatura mediterranea...

Comunque stiamo bene, non stiamo facendo la bella vita, non passiamo le giornate in spiaggia o di movida, ma siamo in Costa Rica e per ora questo basta!!! Chi l'avrebbe mai detto!

La temperatura qui è perfetta, è caldo e umido ma piove quasi ogni giorno, in un mese dicono ci mancherà la pioggia. La gente qui è cordiale e ti saluta per strada...

Siamo sempre più incantati da questo magnifico paradiso e alla ricerca di un angolino per noi stessi.
